My Top 3 Tips to Kick Start Your Intuition

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

It’s all very well being tuned in and peaceful when you are having a quiet weekend or taking a walk on the beach.

What about when you have to make a decision now?

Not tomorrow, not next week, NOW.

It’s easy to make excuses. You can go into denial. You know who suffers?

You. Yes you.

I know, I’ve been there. I put myself through excruciating low self-esteem because I allowed my senses to get lazy and I rolled along in life, all the while fear and worry were building beneath the surface of my seemingly good life.

Stop letting life happen to you and create the life you want. I see so many people think they don’t have control over their circumstances whether it’s in a relationship, business partnership or finances.

“You aren’t powerless. It’s just not true”.

Here are my Top 3 Tips to kickstart your Intuition that I recommend. If you choose to practice just one of these tips, you will experience positive transformation in your life.

1. Get Centered

I know, it sounds so simple, “Get centered”. It is when you allow yourself.

Still stuck with this concept?

Ok, think about what happens when you are energetically out of alignment. You may feel distracted, overwhelmed, exhausted, scattered, unfocused.

Why?

When your aura opens too wide, it is susceptible to outside energies that you do not have conscious awareness of. People and situations begin to enter your space that you may not want into your space.

How do you get centered?

I draw my awareness inwards. I visualize it moving inside my body. This helps me to sense how far open my aura is. Then I focus on its most extended point and I intention it inwards.

Dear folks, this takes a lot of practice however, once you’ve mastered it, you will have more energy, clarity, serenity and happiness.

2. Active Listening

There’s listening and there’s LISTENING.

Trust me, you’re not really listening 90% of the time.

I constantly catch myself when I loose focus. The difference is because I use my intuition and I have a deeper sense of awareness, I’m able to quickly course correct when I’m zoning out and missing the truth of what someone is sharing and to hear the wisdom of my spirit guides.

3. Feel with Your Gut

I wonder why clairsentience is referred to as “Gut Instinct”?

I want you to move out of your head now. You think you know what gut instinct is however there are a multitude of feelings that have different meanings to help you determine the outcome of a future situation when you are truly attuned to your core awareness.

It takes commitment and courage to feel what’s really going on, especially when it’s something unpleasant.

Look at it this way, if you don’t address the truth of your situation now, it’s not going to go away and it’ll likely turn out worse than if you’d allowed yourself to feel the energy. You’d be prepared and be able to create a better outcome.

Try practicing one of the intuition techniques today every day for seven days and see what happens. It’s a good idea to journal your insights, they can be very insightful.

3 Intuition Principles That Have Transformed My Life

Wedding Day with Nick

I celebrated my wedding anniversary on May 5. I am so grateful for Nick (husband) because he is my rock. He supports my vision of being able to help people trust their intuition.

Over three years ago, I was having a very different experience. My low point was sitting home alone watching the movie “13 Going on 30″. It was an extra depressing time for me because I was over 30 and my love life was a mess. It was so easy for me to help other people. I could clearly see my clients blind spots when it came to love.

And me? I was in the dark!

So what turned around? How did I go from a being a single ex-London party girl, to a happily married woman?

I committed to confronting the areas I was blind.

Here Are 3 of My Favorite Intuition Principles for You…

I can teach you many intuition techniques but if you’re not willing to take full responsibility for where you are in denial, nothing is going to change. I’ve learned there is always more wisdom to be gained and if you’re open, you will experience much more love. (You can never love or be loved too much!)

So please enjoy these 3 principles I’ve learned that have dramatically changed my relationships (and my life) over the last three years.

“3 Intuition Principles That Have Transformed My Life”
by Joanna Garzilli

I love being the Eternal Student. I’m always practicing techniques to deepen my understanding of energy, expand my awareness of life and develop my intuition.

Why?

You need to look at intuition as a muscle. It’s not something you discover and that’s it, your life changes.

There are three intuition principles I’ve learned from experience that I wanted to share with you. My intuition principles have helped keep me aware and supported. And following these tips has ensured I don’t get side-tracked and keep me focused.

1. Understanding is the prerequisite to Experience

For years I wondered why I was struggling. I’d read a multitude of self-help books, gone to tones of workshops and retreats.

I knew who all the ascended masters and angels were, what there purpose was. I had gobbled up every New Age technique that was available but things still weren’t quite right.

Don’t get me wrong. Good things happened but I didn’t know how things happened. It was hit and miss. I felt like the universe pulled me along. Life was happening to me.

I realized I needed to stop rushing through life trying to find all the answers. I learned the books and workshops were not the answer. They were the catalyst to me discovering the truth within.

2. Stop Rushing Through Life (Be Present)

What always got me into trouble was trying to do too much, too quickly. I had this urgency of a deadline. Who allowed the deadline to cause craziness in my life?

Me!

You know what happened when I rushed to get something done?

I felt resentful, frustrated and drained.

I made poor decisions.

I had low self-esteem.

Try following the laws of nature. There are cycles of energy for a reason. Slow down. That doesn’t mean be lazy and irresponsible.

When you rush, you don’t create time to reflect on the effect that is created out of your cause. Get quiet for a few minutes. You can find your natural rhythm.

3. You Know The Truth

Why do you keep looking outside of yourself for the answers?

There’s a big difference between research and good guidance from an expert to help you gain knowledge for your life vs. seeking answers from someone who is not qualified to give you the correct information you need for your situation.

Calling a phone psychic for ten minutes in Alabama about whether you should leave your marriage is not the solution. However, smart and successful people do things like this. They look for support from someone who cannot give the best advice.

Thing of a situation, that is challenging you right now. Good.

Now ask yourself the following questions:

What action did I take to create this problem?
How do I feel about this problem?
What first step can I make to solve the problem?
Can I resolve this problem on my own or do I need support?
I need support, so who would be the best person to help me?

When you take time to connect to your intuition, you will discover your best course of action.

Sometimes it takes time for an answer to reveal itself. That’s only because your emotions like fear, anger and frustration block your good guidance.

Initially it may be tough for you to look inside yourself because of past mistakes you made. Go gently. Your intuition is your best friend, so treat yourself with love.

7 Signs You’re Procrastinating And How to Break The Cycle

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Bruce Newberg & JoannaThis past week, I met up for lunch with my dear friend Bruce Newberg who casts a really cool show on TNT called “The Closer” starring Kyra Sedgwick.

I’ve seen Bruce in action when he’s casting and he’s totally intuitive. He naturally applies his Sixth Sense to make the right casting choice!

Do you trust yourself to make the best decisions every time?

Are you confident about the next step you need to take?

Or, do you procrastinate?

I was Queen Procrastinator! The result was I experienced a lot of angst, fear, worry, frustration, low self esteem, blame and yes, ANGER.

You wouldn’t think it looking at me or spending time with me because I managed to do a good acting job internalizing all those painful emotions.

Wow it hurt! I made myself physically ill with nosebleeds and depression.

Here Are 7 Things You Must Do If You Want to Overcome Procrastination…

The worst thing you can do is to go into denial and put your decision making process on hold. If your next step is “I need to meditate on this” that’s not procrastination. However you need to watch out for procrastination creeping in.

Denial is lethal! I’ll explain more in the article below.

So please enjoy these 7 signs and solutions I’ve learned that have moved me from procrastination to ACTION QUEEN.

I’m a go-getter. I love living life. I’m proactive and belief anything is possible if you believe it to be so.

However, I wasn’t always that way. I’d go through cycles of taking action, sometimes charging forward feeling unstoppable and then I’d train wreck. Hit the wall. Sometimes I experienced weeks of paralysis.

I knew what I needed to do, but I didn’t do it.

Why?

You need to unearth what’s really happening inside you. Use your intuition.

Here are 7 key signs I’ve learned from experience that I recommend. My signs have indicated to me when self-sabotage is about to derail me and instead keep me on target with my responsibilities to my family, friends, health, finances and career.

And following these tips has guaranteed me a good night’s sleep!

1. You’ll Deal With It Later

Is your head playing the theme song from Annie, “Tomorrow, Tomorrow”?

Do you set out with good intentions and enthusiasm to complete something and weeks, even years later fail to have it done?

Here’s some things you may have put on pause:

Doing taxes, Filing papers, replying to emails
Clearing out junk, old clothes, furniture and broken objects
Writing your book, TV show, Movie, Weekly newsletter
Going to the Gym, walking the dog!
Sending Birthday cards, replying to invitations for events (Weddings)
Beginning a relationship, Putting energy into a friendship, Ending a relationship
Changing career, Starting your own business
Going to the dentist, doctor, nutritionist
Have you put anything on hold lately?

If your answer is “Yes”, are you aware of the effect it’s having on you?

I know when I address my procrastination, I feel like a weight has been lifted and I’m happy, confident and peaceful.

2. You Feel Overwhelmed

What does overwhelm look like?

Let’s look at it from an intuitive standpoint.

  • Visually, a stack of bills may look like an ocean of paper
  • A voice in your head could be saying “I can’t handle this now. Agh!”
  • You feel your stomach drop three feet when you do look at the bill and your head spins.
  • You know you have to pay the bill but you do contrary action and walk away.

3. Brain Fog

You can’t think clearly. When you do think, it feels like there’s a metal object stuck in your head. Someone’s pulled the drapes down inside your head so when you try and connect an internal thought to an outside action. Guess what? Nothing happens.

4. You’re Depressed

What does this look depression look like?
You may sit on the couch for hours and not be able to move.
Take a ten minute nap after lunch and get up at 6pm.
Feed yourself negative self-talk.
Feel like you’ve just had Kryptonite chained to your body.

5. Exhaustion

You are constantly tired. Even when you’ve slept ten hours, you can’t seem to get ahead of the curve. Facing social events may feel like purgatory.

6. Over Committing

You say “Yes” to people’s requests, new projects, lunches, meetings, events and parties when you already committed to three times what you’re capable of handling right now.

7. Perfectionism

The dialogue in your head may go something like this:

“What if I say or do the wrong thing? I won’t be good enough. I don’t know how to get it done? No one will buy it, read it, like it”.

7 Steps You Can Take to Overcome Procrastination Now

Step 1 - Write a list of your current commitments

Step 2 - Create five columns and write the following headings: Family, Friends, Health, Finances, Career

Step 3 - Put each commitment into the relevant column

Step 4 - Ask yourself, “What is the most important thing in each column?”

Step 5 - Prioritize: Place the most important thing at the top of the list

Step 6 - Commit to one thing on your list today

Step 7 - Write down the steps that need to happen to get it done.

For example: Goal: Loose 10 pounds before my wedding. Commitment and Action Steps: Go to the gym five times a week. Hire a personal trainer once a week.

No excuses! Just think of how great you will feel.

3 Myths You Need to Know About a Quantum Leap

Have You Ever Experienced a Quantum Leap?

You’ll know when you do experience a quantum leap because it’s the most ridiculously intense experience.

3 Myths You Need to Know Now

Misconception #1
People don’t realize that 99% of the time when you go through a Quantum Leap you’ll feel awful before you feel great

Misconception #2
People think they are going backwards in their life and things are falling apart

Misconception #3
People think they are disconnected from intuitive guidance

What Are The Signs You are Making a Quantum Leap?

Physical Symptoms:
You may have some or all of these feeling in your body: shaking, pins and needles buzzing, vibrating, tingling sensations, headache or migraine, wired energy or exhaustion/lethargy.

Emotional Symptoms:
You may experience intense feelings of loneliness, panic, overwhelm, fear, abandonment, loss, extreme sensitivity, vulnerability.

State of Mind:
Your intuition is expanding. You are breaking through old outmoded ways of thinking. It may feel like things are getting worse. Patterns from the past arise and go over and over like a stuck CD in your head. It may be hard to think clearly. That’s just the Ego Mind kicking and screaming, trying to block your wise guidance out.

Why Do You Feel Worse Before You Feel Better?
Your soul is saying “STOP and listen to the guidance” and “STOP” so your body can go through the appropriate release of old energies that do not support your spiritual growth and personal development anymore.

Finally, there is big difference between a Dark Night of the Soul and a Quantum Leap. Do you know the difference between the two?

My Spiritual Solution:
I dragged myself into bed and prayed and then the pain intensified. Winston my doggie was on the bed with me and I was shaking like a leaf and I was terrified and I heard inner guidance as my own voice in my head say “Let Go”.

And you know what? I was terrified to let go. Yes, me. I cried and wailed and prayed for forgiveness, you see I wasn’t just experiencing my quantum leap. I could feel the old energies of the Group Consciousness in addition to my own.

Nick was at work and I wanted him to be with me so much and then I felt the Ego Mind loosen its grip. I began to feel the shift occurring within me at a physical level. My whole body began to vibrate and I’d asked for a sign that I wasn’t making this all up. For those of you who don’t know me well, I’m pretty down to earth, skeptical at times and enjoy regular things like shopping, eating and walking the dog on the beach.

Then the inner guidance was “Get out of bed and go write to everyone now,” and I thought “I can’t, I feel too awful,” and the guidance came again, “You can do it”.

Don’t Block Your Quantum Leap:
I got out of bed and there was my sign. I wasn’t attached to receiving a sign. I asked if it would be possible to have a sign, rather than demanding it.

It was 12:12 and I couldn’t believe it. It was the sign I needed and I began to laugh and thank God and as I walked across the house to my computer in the other room, all my painful symptoms were gone and I felt peace.

I know this story is relevant for some of you because my inner guidance said so. You know who you are. I want you to know you are on track and all is well, there is a divine plan.
