7 Reasons You Don’t Live Your Best Life
Friday, November 14th, 2008It’s easy to have good intentions. It’s another thing to actually fulfill your intentions and live the life you dreamed of. Take a moment to imagine your perfect day. Plenty of money in your bank account, recognized and appreciated for your career achievements. You work with like-minded kind and passionate people. You have a blissful relationship and are in perfect health. You have the freedom to do exactly what you want, when you want. You feel a deep sense of peace and gratitude because you are constantly supported by your spirit guides and connected to God consciousness.
Why is it so many people fall short of their desires? Have you already given up on your goals? Are you aware that you keep making excuses as to why you’re not living your best live. I’ve noticed the moment things get a little tough, a wee bit challenging and beyond a comfort zone, you give up.
What you may not be aware of and need to be conscious of is you are holding yourself back from living your best life. You have the power to change that now. Let’s take a look at 7 reasons you don’t live your best life so you can turn negative situations into positive outcomes.
Reason #1 You want a quick fix. There is an unrealistic self-imposed expectation to achieve faster. Have you noticed how often you opt for the fastest option? When was the last time you choose the scenic route on Mapquest? Are you compromising your diet on a miniscule lunch-break with fast food you don’t really want because you’ve got to get something in your stomach? Are you saying, “Yes,” to people because you don’t feel you have the time to research and you’re relying on someone else? These are costly mistakes. You can loose money in your business, make poor partnerships, commit to things you don’t truly want because you haven’t taken time to think about it and you’re robbing yourself of relaxation and enjoying life.
Reason #2: You fear what you don’t know. What if you don’t get the answer you want? Do you get struck by overwhelm? Have you ever had a big dream and felt excited and inspired but when it comes down to taking action, you trick yourself into not having enough knowledge and the know how to face your fear and educate yourself. If you used your intuition combined with sensible investigation, would you still carry fear inside you?
Reason #3: You don’t believe you deserve to have what you want. I’ve seen people light up when sharing their dreams and as soon as I say, “Wow! That’s an amazing vision. What are you doing to make it happen?” They clam up, shoulders hunch, enthusiasm runs out of sight, it’s like seeing the air whoosh out of a balloon. Are you aware of all your beliefs?
Reason #4: You’re too busy looking at what isn’t working in someone else’s life to distract you from your own dissatisfaction. You can give yourself the false illusion of feeling good about yourself because a friend, acquaintance or family member is dysfunctional, unmotivated or very complicated. It’s a poor excuse. As long as you focus on someone else without learning from it, you’re never going to live the life you dream of or accomplish your goals.
Reason #5: Another person is responsible for your happiness. All too often, I see people blaming others for the current status of their life. As long as you put the fault on someone else, you’ll carry guilt and pain inside you that you don’t understand and wish you could get rid of.
Reason #6: You haven’t taken time to consider what you truly want. Goals, needs and desire change over time. Nothing ever stays the same. You, your environment and life circumstances are constantly evolving. You need to keep in touch with your feelings and track your thoughts.
Reason #7: You take advice from people who don’t know what is best for you. I often have clients come to me saying, “She criticized my goals, said I couldn’t achieve them.” Don’t go to the wrong people for advice. Get honest with yourself. You know who the dream wreckers are so stop sabotaging yourself and surround yourself with positive and supportive people.
My spirit guides always dole out tough love. Sometimes it hurts looking at the areas of your life where you’ve been complacent, lazy, negative and irresponsible. It’s our human nature so it’s crucial you invest a little time and energy every day into developing your awareness and listening to your intuition. The outcome is you create miracles for yourself and that is the best experience.
