The Royal Wedding date is set for April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

Prince William & Kate Middleton

Future Royal Wedding

Here are the highlights from Joanna Garzilli’s radio interview with TV Guestpert host Jacquie Jordan:

Give us the update of the royal engagement and how it’s being covered in the media?

The British press calling Kate “Waity Katie” is downright rude. She’s not manipulative or positioning herself to become part of the royal family like Sarah Ferguson aka Fergie strategized her way into the royal family via Prince Andrew.

What does the future hold for Kate Middleton & Prince William?

Kate sincerely loves William. It’s going to be a tough road for her. It’s reminiscent of Romeo & Juliet; the fight between the Capulets and the Montagues. The difference being a passive aggressive stance from The Queen. She is very particular about “Royal” protocol. She’s very nice so long as its done her way, which she believes, is the right way.
Kate’s family are very laid back and I think there will be some power struggle behind the scenes of Kate’s parents saying to William and Kate, “Do what feels good for you” and the Windsor’s saying “You need to put this country and the people first.”

Some American’s may not be aware that someone born in the UK is a “subject” not a “citizen”.

It’s a media frenzy. This wedding is going to get the most coverage in history. When William and Kate did their official announcement at St James Palace, the media were relentless. Non-stop photos, you could barely here them. Kate is daunted like a deer in the headlights. She has a sense of what’s coming but not really. William has been used to media attention since a very young age. He’s well prepared. I think William and Kate’s love is strong enough that the media will not destroy their marriage.

Janet Street Porter from BBC hammered into Kate Middleton, she referred to the royal wedding as “nauseating”. This the first time in history a commoner is marrying a royal but she had a lot of digs at Kate saying Kate’s entitled and privileged and she didn’t have a real job, that she has been waiting around for William. That’s not true. She worked at Jigsaw clothes chain. That’s a real job.

Overall, there is a lot of joy and positive coverage. Their wedding day will become another national holiday.

Are all the look-alike people coming out of the woodwork?

Yes, Kate Bevan is being referred to as the Princess to be, doppelganger. She’s 21 and has quit her job and is now taking elocution lessons to cash in on the upcoming royal wedding. She’ll make more money but I don’t think it’ll squash that inner voice that says “It’s not enough, I want more.”

How important is this story to the British Newspaper and tabloids?
This is the most important story for the British Newspapers and tabloids. It’s estimated the wedding will boost the British economy by close to a billion dollars, 620 British pounds. The press will get a nice chunk of that.

What do you think about USA’s fascination with it?

I think the U.S.A. sees the Royal family as a magical fairytale, quaint, charming, and sweet. I don’t think they’re that. They are flawed like the rest of us. A few posh accents and splendid real estate creates an aura of something that is hyper-real. I think the U.S. needs to take off their rose tinted glasses.

Do you have any insight stories into Kate Middleton?
Kate’s parents were in the airline industry. Dad a flight dispatcher and Mom a flight attendant. Later on they set up their own biz and became millionaires. Kate’s ancestors were working class laborers and miners. Her family background is solid with good values, very down to earth and this upbringing will serve Kate well.
They broke up in Zermatt Switzerland on April 14 2007. They got back together summer of 2007. Supposedly it was because he wasn’t giving her enough attention. I don’t think that was the case. I think there was much outside pressure and too much media attention for her to handle.

Kate has overcome her overwhelming fear of the media machine, the best way for her to handle the media attention moving forward, is to not try and control it. Be herself and keep focusing on her relationship and love with Prince William.

What advice do you have for Kate Middleton having the Queen as her Mom-In-Law?

Kate is more grounded and centered than Diana was. She’ll handle all the media attention better. At times, Diana got so overwhelmed. What I know from a Royal insider is she often had tantrums and acted out because she was isolated and misunderstood. It is ironic how Princess Diana had the world’s media all eyes and ears, hanging on her every look and word and yet within the confines of The Royal Family she was mostly ignored and her opinions were dismissed. Kate will be better prepared, she is better prepared.

My psychic advice for Kate is I want her to focus on the new family she is creating with Prince William rather than how she best fit in with The Royals. Her Mom-in-Law to be is indeed The Queen but Kate needs to stand her ground and set her boundaries from the get-go; respectfully and politely. Just because someone is Queen doesn’t mean they know what is best.

I think Kate will create a positive shift in image for The Monarchy, making the Royals more acceptable and liked.
